Alex Edwards, Director

Alex Edwards officially became the director of the Missouri Mavericks on August 1, 2016.  Before the Mavericks, Edwards was an assistant basketball coach at Rock Valley College located in Rockford, IL. During that time, Edwards was responsible for recruiting, player development, academic monitoring, and scouting opponents. Edwards helped guide the Golden Eagles to an NJCAA National Championship in 2016. That national title team produced 2 All-Americans and the NJCAA DIII National Player of the Year.

Before his time at Rock Valley College, Edwards served as an assistant coach at Langston University located in Langston, OK. During his one season with the Lions, Edwards helped produce the best team in the past 10 years, helping the program to a 16-11 record.

A Moberly native, Edwards also spent two seasons as an assistant men's basketball coach at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mt. Pleasant, IA. He specialized in player development and recruiting.

Edwards hold a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Columbia College and a master's degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Management from the University of Central Missouri.
